ROCK SPRINGS — 6G Green Completions, a local well test flow back, service and equipment business serving the oil and gas industry in southwest Wyoming, recently made a move — to a new business location.
The company relocated from its previous home on Purple Sage Road to its new location at 31 Wilkins Peak Road just off County Road 191 S. west of Rock Springs. Co-owners Mike Shaw and Josh Sain said this is an upgrade for them and provides them with the opportunity to keep growing.
The company employs about 20 workers. It is “veteran-owned and operated,” Shaw is quick to point out.
“With many of our customers, that means something,” Shaw said.
The moving process has been going on for about two weeks and they are still getting the office area set up.
But aside from all the moving, 6G Green Completions is about promoting a customer service-based culture.
“We’re all about developing good relationships by putting the customer first,” Shaw said.
6G Green Completions also puts a strong focus on the environment. The business is dedicated to the preservation of the environment by working in a safe, efficient manner. In keeping with this philosophy, it developed a closed-loop system through which no gas is emitted “at all” into the environment, Shaw said.
What are ‘green completions?’
According to energyindepth.org, “green completions” are becoming standard in the natural gas industry. The involve the capturing of natural gas at the well head during well completion, instead of releasing it into the air or burning it off, as has been done in the past.
“We’ve been very proactive about this,” Shaw said.
The company, as it continues to grow, is also looking for ways to give back. Shaw and Sain are planning that by 2018 the company will be well-established and able to give 1 percent of all proceeds to Operation Underground Railroad, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescuing of human trafficking victims, with a special focus on children.
