Charles Ellis Christensen

MOUNT PLEASANT, Utah � Charles Ellis Christensen, 57, died May 1, 2008, in Mount Pleasant, Utah.

He was born Feb. 28, 1951, in Mount Pleasant to Ellis J. and Lucile Rutishauser Christensen. He grew up in Moroni, Utah.

He lived in Rock Springs for 17 years and worked at Vaughn�s Plumber & Heating.

He was a master plumber/philosopher and spent many of his professional years providing services to Wasatch Academy.

His interests included the mountains, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, working in his yard, animals and children.

His is survived by one son, Tony Christensen of Rock Springs; Vicki Merrill; stepdaughters, Amanda Strate and Candie Druce; sister, Susan Anderson and husband Steven and four children of Spokane, Wash.; and Connie and Clayton Gradert and their four children.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008, at the Wasatch Academy auditorium.








Emmett Opal Griffin Jr.

FARSON � Emmett Opal Griffin Jr., 81, of 46 Griffinsville Loop, Farson, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008. A longtime resident of Farson and resident of Medoc, Mo., he died following a lengthy illness.

He was born Dec. 24, 1926, in Carterville, Mo., the son of Emmett Opal and Victoria Belle Hicks Griffin Sr. He attended schools in Carterville.

He was married to Annabel Sailor for 25 years. They later divorced.

Mr. Griffin served in the U.S. Army during World II.

He worked as a farmer and rancher and was employed by the Bureau of Reclamation from 1961-67. He retired in 1978.

His interests included fishing, traveling and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include five sons, Stephen Griffin and wife Renae, Matt Griffin and wife Sheri, Dan Griffin and wife Teri, Shannon Griffin and wife Brooke and Chris Griffin and wife Regina, all of Farson; five daughters, Vicky Griffin, April Ludwig and husband Mike and Janie Jones and husband Troy, all of Rock Springs, Andrea Griffin of Farson and Heather Albrecht and husband Randy of Fruita, Colo.; one brother, Dennis Griffin and wife Elaine of Franklin, Tenn.; two sisters, Joan Paradowski of San Antonio and Camille Niel and husband Lyle of Carterville; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Larry and Gary Griffin; two sisters, Mary and Dorothy; one brother, Jim; two grandsons, Jason James and Steve Daniel; and one granddaughter, Amanda May.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at the Farson Community Hall in Farson. Military graveside services will be conducted at the Eden Valley Cemetery in Farson. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
