Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge (Seedskadee) is a 27,230-acre refuge that protects a mosaic of riparian, wetland and upland shrub habitats along 36 miles of the Green River between Fontenelle Reservoir and Flaming Gorge Reservoir. We are a nonprofit, volunteer-based group trying to keep a fun and healthy activity for people of all ages going. We host races year around, with very little time off. It’s great for people who want to participate in a competitive sport without the commitment that comes with it; no letting teammates down when you can’t race. The Sweetwater County Historical Society is a chapter of the Wyoming Historical Society. The chapter is currently inactive and working hard to rejuvenate its efforts to share local and state history. The Sweetwater County Master Gardeners organize, plan and teach workshops, classes and plant swaps for the community. Sweetwater Speedway is a 3/8-mile dirt, high-banked oval, where drivers come from all over the country to race. Members also include volunteers who put on the events May through September each year. The Young at Heart Center has proudly served the Rock Springs and Sweetwater County community since its founding in 1973. Originally designated to serve the community’s senior population, in 2009 with the construction of our new facility, services and amenities were incorporated to address the needs of the entire community. The Maggie Springs Run is a nonprofit organization. We choose two recipients from Sweetwater County each year to raise money for. Every third weekend in July, we have a side-by-side poker run to help raise money. All proceeds and donations go directly to the recipients.
