GREEN RIVER — Festivities and activities continue Saturday at Flaming Gorge Days in Green River.
The day kicks off with the Flaming Gorge Day Parade. Starting at 10 a.m., the theme of this year’s parade is “Salute to Veterans.” The parade route is on Flaming Gorge Way. All entries should be at the parking lot by 9 a.m.
Events in Evers Park on Saturday include:
• 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament starting at 8 a.m.
The Flaming Gorge Street Jam will have its annual 3-on-3 hoop festival for all types of round ball junkies. Three games are guaranteed for all teams.
• Horseshoes Tournament at 8:30 a.m.
Horseshoe competition … a long-standing Flaming Gorge Days tradition is on the west end of Evers Park. Signups are Saturday from 8-9 a.m. and singles tournament starts at 9 a.m. Singles and doubles both cost $15. National Horseshoe Pitching Association rules apply. Plaques will be awarded for first, second, and third place.
• Children’s Entertainment, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
During Festival in the Park kids can enjoy the day with free children’s entertainment, which includes an inflatable Moonbounce, inflatable castle with a double slide, an inflatable obstacle course and an inflatable 24-foot slide. Entertainment includes a clown balloon artist, two magic shows per day, karaoke and music. Members from the Lions Club will be there to give train rides around the park.
The kids can also enjoy a traditional play ground and cool off in the Splash Park.
• Festival in the Park, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A variety of vendors will display their wares, including lots of great food, funnel cakes, ribs, ice cream, hot dogs and hamburgers, of course … the list goes on! Don’t miss out on all the great handmade crafts, T-shirts and trinkets galore.
Events on Expedition Island will include:
• 4-on-4 Volleyball Tournament at 9 a.m.
Competition will be held on the outdoor grass courts. Tournament will be limited to 15 women’s teams and 10 co-ed teams. This will be a double elimination tournament with rally scoring.
• Cornhole Tournament at noon
Registration is accepted the day of the event. Registration begins at 11 a.m. Tournament begins at noon and cost $30 per recreational team and $50 per professional team.
• Live Entertainment featuring Eagle Beak, ZamTrip, Ginger and the Gents and the American Hitmen beginning at 5 p.m.
Concert tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Rock Springs and Green River chambers of commerce.
The Flaming Gorge Days Open Golf Tournament two-person scramble is at Rolling Green Country Club from 2-5 p.m.
