‘ROCK SPRINGS — The 2019 Sweetwater Board of Cooperative Educational Services children’s honor choirs will present an early Spring Concert at 7 p.m. March 21 at the Rock Springs Junior High School auditorium.
The concert is free and open to the public.
The children’s choir, Voce, under the direction of Sarah Wessel, will offer several selections including “This Little Light of Mine” arranged by Ken Berg; “The Wings of Morning,” original melody by Dimitri Shostakovich and arranged and given countermelody and additional words by Jill Gallina; “Ton The,” a French tongue twister by Jeanne and Robert Gilmore arranged by Susan Brumfield; and “Two by Two” by Mary Donnelly and George Strid.
Accompanists include Christy Lev on piano and Parker Allan on cello.
Members of the Voce choir include Brynlee Blake, Kaliya Burnham, Taylor Burnham, Jaycee Carr, Yareli Chavez, Brylee Christensen, Laila Copenbarger, Inessa Gunderson, Kaylena Hansen, Mahkayla Harrington, Vivian Harrison, Libby Luzmoor, John McManus, Joseph McManus, Kaylee Moore, Hannah Murrah, Bella Nelson, Ellisa Neuenschwander, Ethan Norton, David Nussbaum, Jacobi Nyland, Marlee Nyland, James Redmond, Evelyn Riddle, Bibian Sarabia, Elisa Sparks, Hunter Swenson, and Makayla Whitney.
Under the direction of Wendy Compton, the children’s honor choir program advanced choir, Cantabile, will perform “Singaahambayo” by Victor Johnson; “All Night, All Day” arranged by Ken Berg; “Al Shlosha D’Varim” by Allan Naplan; “The Mouse Madrigal” arranged by Steven Porter; “Feel Good” arranged by Baker and Elliot; and “Ching A Ring Chaw” arranged by Linda Spevacek.
Members of Cantabile are Nevaeh Bryant, Breanna Dale, Josh Davies, Alyssa Feagler, Willow Garcia, Makayla Johnson, Clara Luzmoor, Reanna Morrey, Breanna Quickenden, Aiden Rauzi, Piper Richardson, Maggie Smith, Jordan Van Ausdle, Helena McManus, Naomi Clutter, Cassidy Gibbons, Alexis Rogers, Jacob Dyess, and Aurora Brown.
Musicians of the Sweetwater BOCES After School String Program and the SBOCES Community Orchestra will accompany the choirs. They will play with Cantabile on “Al Shlosha D’ Varim” and will join the two BOCES choirs singing together the final selection “Sing,” written by Pinkzebra.
Members of the string orchestra include Allison Folks, Esther Bea, Jose Ruiz, Lila May, Connie Johnson, Corrine Folks, Asya Mikula, Antony Ruiz, Samuel Wilson, Sarah Wessel, Donna Nunez, and Parker Allan.
