Quilts galore

ROCK SPRINGS — The ladies of Rock Springs Young At Heart show off the 13 quilts they made for Linus Project. The Sweetwater County Chapter of Project Linus is organized by Donna Toly. The local chapter has donated more than 3,400 blankets in the last 13 years to organizations including Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, Family Social Services, YWCA and Support and Safe House, Sweetwater County Family Justice Center. The blankets are distributed to children in need. This year’s Make a Blanket Day runs from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 24 at the Rock Springs Library’s Ferrero Room, 400 C St. The local chapter is still taking donated quilts. Participants include, from left, Linda Merrell, Dixie Arnett, Bonnie Christiansen, Janine Cox, Pam Wiggen and Merry Jackson. Tina Duran, Ruth Howe and Sandra Wadsworth also assisted.
