HUTCHINSON, KANSAS — The Ciner Blue Rescue Team did well in different categories, including taking overall first place, at the Kansas Shoot-Out in Hutchinson, Kansas.

The event took place May 13-16.

The team took home first place in events that included field problem, Team Tech and first aid competitions, and was first overall, according to Ciner Wyoming LLC.

The squad was one of several rescue teams from across the country to compete using simulated mine incidents to hone their rescue skills.

"We had a couple of new team members and many members competing in roles they have not done before," Ciner Site Manager Craig Rood said. "It is great to see how well the whole team is cross-trained."
