Follow Sweetwater Transit buses using the free RouteShout 2.0 app.

ROCK SPRINGS — Those who use Sweetwater Transit Authority Resources buses can learn if their rides are behind, on time or ahead of schedule through a free app. People can now track buses though the RouteShout 2.0 app or the interactive map at

The apps can be downloaded on iPhone or Android devices at no cost from the Apple Store or Google Play.

Once the app is open and “Sweetwater County Transit Authority” is selected, people can check schedules, or see where buses are at on the Blue and Red routes.

Riders will be able to more conveniently plan trips, reduce wait times at bus stops, and be notified of any schedule or route changes in real time through their smartphones, according to a press release.

“STAR Transit is very excited to offer this tool to our riders,” STAR Transit Director Judy Owens said. “We want to provide all our route riders who rely on us every day with the latest transit technology, so they can get to work, appointments and school on time. This helps riders better plan their day and helps us support them.”

In addition to checking on buses to see how far they are from scheduled stops, riders can use the “Locate Me” GPS function to determine the closest bus stop, or save favorite routes and stops for quick access when emergencies, route changes or weather conditions affect service.

The RouteShout 2.0 traveler information system is provided by Routematch Software, an Atlanta-based transit technology company that works extensively with transit agencies, according to a press release.
