SWEETWATER COUNTY — Green River City Councilman Allan Wilson on Monday pleaded guilty as part of a plea agreement to one count of second degree sexual abuse of a minor.
“Per the plea agreement, Wilson would plead guilty to the 2013 sexual assault of a minor in the second degree occurring in Sweetwater County. Wilson would receive a deferred sentence provided that he provide a factual basis under oath admitting to the allegations,” according to a press release from the Sweetwater County Attorney’s Office.
During the change of plea proceedings, Wilson admitted to inappropriately touching the victim for sexual gratification. The victim was under the age of 13 at the time, and Wilson said the act occurred in Sweetwater County, the press release stated.
The Court accepted the guilty plea after Wilson gave a factual account of events. A sentencing date will be set following the completion of a pre-sentence investigation.
In January, Wilson was arrested in Sweetwater County following accusations of sexual assault of a minor. He was subsequently charged locally with one count of second degree sexual abuse of a minor for inappropriately touching the victim in 2013 while driving through Green River.
Wilson also appeared before Lincoln County Third District Court Judge Joseph Bluemel charged with one count of first degree sexual abuse of a minor, one count of second degree sexual abuse of a minor and one count of third degree sexual abuse of a minor.
The incidents happened in Lincoln County in the Spring of 2011 while at Wilson’s property located north of Kemmerer, according to court documents.
According to the redacted affidavit filed in the Rock Springs Circuit Court, Sweetwater County Detective Michelle Hall interviewed a child after his parents reported “concerning photos” on his Snapchat account. When the parents questioned the boy, he revealed the alleged abuse.
The cases were combined into one Sweetwater County case in July, with Sweetwater County Third District Court Judge Nena James presiding.
