ROCK SPRINGS — The Rock Springs Amateur Hockey Association 2018-2019 season sign-ups began on Aug. 1, 2018, and a total of 132 players are currently registered within the organization. The season runs from the last week in September through the middle of April.

Most practices take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays and players are from Rock Springs, Green River, Kemmerer, Pinedale, Riverton and Vernal, Utah. Ages range from 4-19 with the divisions of Mites (U-8), Squirts (U-10), Peewees (U-12), Bantams (U-14), Midgets (U-18) and Girls (U-19).

The Girls team age ranges from 10-19, and Rock Springs hosted the state tournament with a total of eight teams on Feb. 22-24, 2019. The Midgets headed to the state tournament in Gillette on March 1-3, 2019. The Bantams competed in their state tournament in Pinedale on March 8-10, 2019. The younger divisions participated in a tournament style season with the opportunities to play in Jackson, Pinedale, Riverton, Vernal, Utah, Craig, Colorado, and the final tournament in Salt Lake City on March 15-17, 2019.

The Squirt and Peewee divisions also hosted tournaments in Rock Springs this season, with teams attending from Utah and Wyoming.

The association kicked off the season by hosting a golf tournament at the White Mountain Golf Course. The tourney was extremely successful, and another golf event is currently being planned for September 2019.

It takes a lot of time and dedication for the coaches and volunteers to put the hockey program together. Many thanks to the coaches, managers, rec faculty, board members, parents, families and sponsors that have stepped up and helped bring this season together.
