LARAMIE — A new event is being planned for the Cowboys’ football season opener versus the University of Missouri on Aug. 31. University of Wyoming Athletics asks all Cowboy fans to participate in the “Stripe Out” of War Memorial Stadium by wearing brown or gold based on their seat location. The goal is to have alternating sections of the stadium be brown and gold.
Fans may access more information on tickets and T-shirts for the “Stripe Out” at GoWyo.com/StripeOut.
MAKING HISTORY
The Aug. 31 season opener vs. Missouri will feature only the second appearance by a Southeastern Conference team in Wyoming football history. The opportunity to see an SEC team in Laramie is expected to create a high demand for tickets to this year’s Wyoming season opener.
Limited edition “Stripe Out” t-shirts will be sold through the Brown and Gold Outlet online (BrownandGold.com) and at both the Laramie and Cheyenne locations. They will be available for purchase for only $10 per shirt. Information will be provided so fans will know whether to purchase a brown or a gold shirt based on the section their game tickets are located in.
A limited number of T-shirts will be available for UW students on game day.
UW enters the 2019 season with a four-game winning streak. The Cowboys will play rival Colorado State in the home finale on Nov. 22. The schedule also features September home games versus nonconference opponent Idaho and Mountain West Conference foe UNLV. Home games versus MW opponents New Mexico and Nevada in the month of October round out the 2019 home schedule.
