Guiding the next generation

SWEETWATER COUNTY: Green River local Jorge Alatorre, right, continues to make his mark on the wrestling world. Alatorre wrestled varsity for Green River High School 2007-11 and then wrestled at Western Wyoming Community College 2013-14 before heading to Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, to wrestle 2014-15. He decided to take a year off from school and returned to Green River, where he helped coach the Wolves with former coach Marshall Rhodes. The Wolves went on to win a state championship. Alatorre returned to college this fall and is attending Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. When he isn't in class, he is the head wrestling coach at Irving Middle School. Alatorre stands with the Bears, who are 3-0 in the season with wins over Alameda, Franklin and Hawthorne middle schools.
